EKA Mobility, a leading electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, has signed an agreement to deliver 57 electric buses to the Mira-Bhayandar Municipal Corporation (MBMC) in Maharashtra. This partnership marks a significant step in the region’s transition towards sustainable public transport and is part of the broader push for electric mobility across India.
The delivery of these zero-emission electric buses is a part of the Maharashtra government’s initiative to enhance public transportation infrastructure while reducing carbon emissions. The buses will be deployed for city-wide commuting, offering an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional diesel-powered buses. EKA Mobility, known for its advanced electric bus technologies, will provide state-of-the-art vehicles equipped with high-performance batteries, smart energy management systems, and comfort-focused interiors.
This move is in line with India’s green mobility goals, with the government aiming to achieve a significant reduction in air pollution and carbon emissions by expanding the use of electric vehicles, particularly in urban areas. The Mira-Bhayandar Municipal Corporation has been proactive in adopting clean energy solutions, and the integration of these electric buses will help reduce the region’s carbon footprint while improving the overall public transport experience.
The deployment of EKA’s electric buses is expected to serve as a model for other cities in India to follow, reinforcing the country’s commitment to sustainable urban mobility. With India’s growing emphasis on the EV ecosystem, this partnership underscores the country’s transition to cleaner, more efficient transport solutions, which is crucial for tackling urban air pollution and contributing to the global fight against climate change.
